Eu Yan Sang Integrative Health marks 10th year anniversary with donation drive for Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society

26 June 2012, Singapore – Today marks the start of a six-month long donation drive by Eu Yan Sang Integrative Health (EYSIH) to raise funds for the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society - one of EYSIH’s various initiatives to commemorate its 10th anniversary. As a gesture of support, Mr Richard Eu, Group CEO, Eu Yan Sang International, and Mr Lee Kim Siang, Chairman, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, made the first symbolic donation at the Eu Yan Sang South Bridge Road TCM clinic this morning.

“EYS always looks out for different opportunities to contribute to the community, so it was a natural step for us to celebrate EYSIH’s 10th anniversary by helping others in need through this donation drive. Thye Hua Kwan’s mission To Serve Mankind echoes EYS’s vision of caring for mankind and helping our customers achieve wellness, and we hope that our customers will celebrate this special occasion by showing their support as well” said Mr Richard Eu.

The EYSIH chain of TCM clinics first began with a small clinic at South Bridge Road. Since then, it has expanded to 21 clinics in Singapore. The profile of patients that walk through the clinics’ doors has also changed from Chinese-speaking older Singaporeans, to a growing number of younger English-educated Singaporeans in pursuit of a holistic approach to total health and well-being.

Aside from the donation boxes located at all EYS clinics, EYSIH will also be actively raising funds through a ‘Bring-Your-Own-Bag’ programme from July to encourage customers to either use their own bags for herbal medication or to donate $1.00 for the bags which will go towards Thye Hua Kwan. Commemorative umbrellas will also be available at all EYS clinics from August onwards, as part of EYSIH’s fundraising efforts. EYSIH has also pledged to donate an additional 10% of the total sum collected from the donation boxes over the 6-month donation drive.

Mr Lee Kim Siang, Chairman, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, said “EYSIH’s donation and support will go a long way in helping us lighten the burden of those in need. We appreciate the time and effort that has gone into organising these activities, and we look forward to more partnerships in the future.”
