Lingzhi Spores Powder is the pollen released by the Lingzhi mushroom during a 10-day period when the Lingzhi ripens.  It is a very rare and valuable substance – only about 1kg of Lingzhi Spore powder can be extracted from every 1000kg of Lingzhi.

The Lingzhi spore is very small and has a hard cell wall, which maintains the essential nutrients in a powder form.  In order for the nutrients to be releases, the spore shell has to be broken and the actual spores cracked.  By using an advanced technology, Eu Yan Sang has managed to achieve a very high spore breakage rate.  This prevents the active components of the spores from degenerating.

Recommended Dosage:

• To maintain good health: Take1-2 capsules once or twice daily.
• As a treatment: Take 3-4 capsules twice or three times daily.

To be taken with lukewarm water before meals.

Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi or Ling-zhi), a popular medicinal mushroom, is regarded by the Chinese as “mushroom of immortality”. Pharmacological functions:

Anti-cancer function

• Anti-tumour activities are mediated through stimulation of spleen-cell proliferation and expression of cytokines such as interleukins Iand IIand IFN γ. ²
• Β-D-glucan polysaccharides stimulate or modulate the immune system by activation of macrophages and helper T-cells, as well as increase the immunoglobin levels to produce a heightened response to foreign cells. ³

Hypoglycemic function

• Possible mechanism may be due to stimulation of insulin release from the islets directly, through facilitation of Ca²⁺ inflow to the pancreatic cells.⁴

Immuno-potentiation

• Enhanced innate immunity by promoting function of macrophages, B and T lymphocytes, and dendritic cells.⁵
