The Life and Legacy of Eu Tong Sen Exhibition

Eu Tong Sen (1877–1941) was a prominent community leader with a street named after him in Singapore. Nicknamed the “King of Tin”, he was not only a leading businessman in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, but also a notable philanthropist who had made generous contributions to several causes. His name is also synonymous with the 130-year-old Traditional Chinese Medicine business – Eu Yan Sang; a legacy left behind by his father to continue the mission of caring for humanity.

The various facets of his extraordinary life are shared in this exhibition, giving an insight into his childhood, the determination of a young businessman who became one of the wealthiest persons in the region, his contributions to the community, his unwavering commitment to caring for mankind, and his passions in life.
