Eu Yan Sang’s 130th Anniversary Charity Walk Raises S$448,888.88 for 3 charities

Eu Yan Sang’s Charity Walk on 1st November 2009 to celebrate its 130th anniversary in Singapore raised $448,888.88 for three deserving charitable organization – almost double its initial target of a quarter of a million dollars.

The funds raised were distributed equally to Bethany Methodist Nursing Home, HighPoint Community Services Association and Life! Community Development Ltd (Life! CD).

Mr Richard Eu, Group Chief Executive Officer of Eu Yan Sang said, “Thanks to customers, business partners, friends and our employees, our first ever Charity Walk was a huge success. We are truly touched that so many contributed so generously as well as showed up for the walk. These funds will be put to good use to make the lives of the beneficiaries better.”

The charity walk that passed through the first Eu Yan Sang shop and Eu Tong Sen Street named after Mr Eu Tong Sen, who first extended the Eu business empire across the region. More than 700 people participated in the charity walk.
