Chinese Angelica grows mainly in the provinces of Shanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hubei. The best Chinese Angelica comes from the Min county of Gansu Province. Although this aromatic herb serves mainly to nourish the Blood, Chinese herbalists have differentiated its functions according to which part of the root is used. The top part or the head of the root, called Dangguitou (Dāngguītóu), is used mainly to regulate and nourish the Blood. The tail or end of the root, Dangguiwei (Dāngguīweĭ), is used primarily to promote Blood circulation, remove Blood stagnation and reduce pain. For general health maintenance, the whole root is used. Chinese Angelica is one of the most important herbs in Chinese medicine for women’s health, and is commonly used to treat gynaecological problems like infertility and irregular, heavy or painful menstruation flow. It is also useful for treating Blood-deficiency symptoms like anaemia with heart palpitations, dizziness, pale complexion, blurred vision, as well as Blood stagnation problems. Chinese Angelica is an excellent Blood tonic that can be taken 2 - 3 times a month for women to maintain health. Consumption should be ideally timed a few days before and after menstrual periods. Men who are malnourished and anaemic can also benefit from taking Chinese Angelica regularly. Directions:Use 4 qían (16g) of Chinese Angelica with 8 Red Dates.
