Deer Antler (Lurong)

Description:

Many species of deer antlers are used as medicine but the most valuable and effective deer antler belongs to the spotted northern variety of Cervus Nippon (the sika deer) found in the dense forest of China’s Changbai mountainous region.

Antlers are new velvet that have just emerged from the young three-year-old male deer. As these antlers grow, they become horns. Deer Antler, which contains a complex chemical composition, is more potent and expensive than Deer Horn. Pantocrinum, which is an active ingredient identified by Russian scientists in this chemical composition, increases the efficiency of the Heart, improves low Blood pressure and speeds up the healing of wounds.

Deer Antler is a powerful Yang tonic. It replenishes the body’s essences, Blood, and Qi, strengthens the bones and sinews, as well as tonifies Kidney Yang. Deer Antler is commonly used to treat intolerance to cold, impotence, anaemia during confinement, long-standing boils, infertility and a weak Heart. It also helps to slow down the aging process, sustain energy levels and promote general health.

Directions:

Grind 1 qían (4g) of antler slices into fine powder and swallow with lukewarm water or chicken soup. Both the powder and slices can also be simmered with chicken or duck, or mixed with other tonic herbs together with herbal wine.
