Recipes for the Lungs
The Lungs are responsible for immunity and defense system in the body according to TCM. The ability to breathe deeply and correctly is of utmost importance in maintaining good health. When the breathing is full and deep, the skin is nourished. The Lungs are very sensitive to dryness in the environment. The following recipes prevent dryness and all of them are suitable to be incorporated into beauty care regime.

Pears Double-Boiled with Frittilaria Bulbs

Ingredients:

| American Ginseng |
10g |
| Poria |
15g |
| Frittilaria Bulbs |
5g |
| Pears |
2 whole fruits (skinned and seeds removed) |
| Rock Sugar |
Add according to taste |
| Water |
2 rice bowls (400ml) |
|

Instructions:
|
1. Cut the pears into bite size pieces and put all the herbs, rock sugar and water into a double boiler. 2. Double boil with medium fire for 1 hour. Serve warm. |

Comments:

1. This recipe is ideal for those recuperating from sore throat with cough. It will clear out lingering phlegm, heal throat inflammation and relieve chest tightness. Children will especially benefit from this recipe. 2. When Frittilaria Bulbs combined with American Ginseng and Poria, it has the effect of settling the nervous system thus making it a suitable recipe for those with frequent restless sleep. |
